The ltb command
ltb (also installed as letthembuild) runs the room in the checkout you are standing in, with the seats, keys and models the desktop app is signed in to. A seat backed by a CLI subscription costs nothing extra here. It holds no keys of its own.
Where to find it. Mac: Settings → This Mac → Workspace → Outside this window → Install the command…. Linux: the deb and rpm packages put it on your path. Windows: the app installs ltb.cmd.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
ltb review "…" | The room reviews this checkout. --staged reviews what is staged; --branch main reviews this branch since it left main |
ltb run "…" | The room does it, in this checkout |
ltb chat "…" | The room answers; no folder, nothing changed |
ltb rc | Remote control: this machine appears on your phone |
ltb acp | The room as an agent inside an editor that speaks ACP |
ltb doctor | What on this machine would stop the room |
Options: --rounds N (0 means until they agree), --permission with plan, manual, edits, smart, auto or bypass (default auto), --cwd PATH, --json for one event per line, and --quiet.
It exits 0 when the reviewers agreed, 1 when they did not and 2 when the run failed, so a script or CI job can gate on it. A headless run never asks a question: anything Auto would ask about is refused and said in the output.
When not to use it. For work you want to watch or steer. The transcript, diff pane and approvals are in the app.
Remote control
ltb rc opens the app in the folder you are in, or the one after --cwd. Within a minute this machine appears under Devices on your phone and on the web. Tap it there to start a discussion that runs here, with this folder and these seats. Keep the app open; it is what answers the phone.
What changes. On the Mac, Run requests from my other devices (Settings → Account → Sign-in & Security, default on) must stay on. Off, the Mac ignores requests from elsewhere.
Inside an ACP editor
ltb acp speaks the Agent Client Protocol on standard input and output, so an editor that hosts external agents, such as Zed, can put the whole room in its agent panel. Point the editor's agent settings at the command. Do not run it by hand: it prints protocol, not words.
The editor extension
One extension serves VS Code (from its Marketplace) and Cursor (from Open VSX). It runs ltb, so it needs the desktop app and the command installed. Its commands: Review my uncommitted changes, Review this file, Review the selection, Ask the room…, Stop the run, and Open the full transcript in the app. Findings that name a file and line become squiggles, attributed to the seat that raised them.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| letthembuild.permission | plan | plan reads and reports without changing anything; edits, auto and bypass let it write |
| letthembuild.rounds | 0 | Rounds of review; 0 means until they agree |
| letthembuild.cliPath | empty | Where ltb is, if not in a usual place |
There is no JetBrains plugin.
