The desktop app
Download it from the the download page. Mac, Windows and Linux builds are all there; the Mac build is signed and notarised, so it opens without a Gatekeeper detour.
Signing in
One account across every surface. Sign in on the web at letthemchat.com, or in the desktop app from the account menu. Your discussions, folders, projects, tickets and settings follow the account, so a discussion started on your Mac is readable on your phone within seconds of finishing.
Signing in is free and comes with $2 of credit on Our Keys — no card, nothing to configure. That is enough to see whether the idea works for you.
Getting models into the seats
You have two ways, and you can mix them:
- Our Keys. Nothing to set up. Tokens are billed at what the providers charge us plus 10% for serving them. Your own key or CLI carries no such charge.
- BYOK. Paste an Anthropic, OpenAI, Google or xAI key in Settings and that seat runs on your account instead. Nothing about the key leaves your machine on the desktop app.
If you already pay for Claude Code, Codex, the Gemini CLI or Grok's CLI, a seat can run through the CLI you have rather than through an API key at all. See Who sits in the seats.
The command line and editors
The desktop app ships the ltb command line, and there are extensions for VS Code and the other editors that speak its protocol. Both drive the same engine and the same account — see The command line, editors and automation.
