Our Keys
The default, and nothing to configure. Tokens are billed at what the providers charge us plus 10% for running the keys, the proxy and the metering. Your own key, your own CLI and a custom endpoint carry no such charge — there you pay the provider directly. Your plan includes an allowance for its first three months ($10 a month on Pro, $20 per seat on Team, pooled across the team); after that, and beyond it at any time, usage comes out of credit you top up.
What this means for your data: with Our Keys, the text of a turn goes to the provider through our servers. Code you never send is code the room never sees — which on the desktop app is most of it, because the room reads your files locally and sends only what it quotes.
BYOK
Paste an Anthropic, OpenAI, Google or xAI key in Settings and that seat runs on your account. On the desktop app the key is stored on your machine and the calls go straight from there to the provider — nothing about that seat passes through us, and nothing is billed by us for it.
You can mix: your Anthropic key in one seat, Our Keys in the rest.
Which to choose
Use Our Keys to start; you do not have to decide anything. Move a seat to your own key when you have a rate limit, a negotiated price, or a compliance reason to keep a provider relationship direct.
Teams
A team can share keys centrally, so seats work for everyone without each person pasting their own. The owner sees the spend.
