There are no passwords. On the web and the iPhone you sign in with Continue with Apple, Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft; an organisation with single sign-on sees its own button as well. The address the provider gives us is the account.
The Mac
The Mac app works without an account: every discussion is stored on the Mac and nothing leaves it. To connect it, open Settings → Account & Sync and press Sign in…. The browser opens, you sign in there, and the Mac receives a token. Signing out later leaves every session on disk exactly where it is — nothing local is deleted.
What syncs
With an account, one thing is true across the Mac, LetThemChat on the web and the iPhone app: your discussions, folders, tickets and plan travel through it. A discussion started on the Mac can be watched on the phone; a pin made on the web appears on the Mac.
Your API keys never sync. On the Mac they are encrypted on that machine and are not part of the account. On the web and the phone the keys you add are encrypted at rest on our servers and used only there to run your discussions; they are never shown back to you and never sent to another device.
When something looks out of date
The Mac syncs shortly after a change and on a timer. Settings → Account & Sync → Sync now forces one. If the Mac says your sign-in was ended on the server, sign in again from the same pane; your sessions are untouched.
