A long discussion has one or two answers you will come back to. Pin them and they sit in a Pinned shelf at the top of the discussion, above the transcript, on the Mac, the web and the phone alike.
How to pin
- Mac: the action row under an answer has a pin.
- Web: hover an answer and use the pin at its corner.
- iPhone: press and hold an answer and choose Pin this answer.
The same control unpins. Only an answer can be pinned — your own messages, tool output and diffs cannot.
What it does
Pinning changes nothing about the discussion itself: the room does not see it and no turn runs. The pin is a flag on the message that syncs with the discussion, so a pin made on the phone is on the Mac's copy at its next sync. The shelf shows each pinned answer in full, with the seat that wrote it, and tapping one scrolls the transcript to it.
Who can pin
Anyone who can write to the discussion: its author, and teammates while the team's plan is live. A pin made on a shared discussion is seen by everyone who can read it.
Pins and export
Exports and shared links include the transcript in order and do not separate pinned answers; the shelf is a reading aid in the app, not part of the record.
